MAN has completed its first year of electric truck series production with approximately 1,300 vehicles manufactured. At its Munich plant, the company produces electric and diesel trucks on the same assembly line, positioning electrification as a key part of its decarbonisation strategy.

Electric and diesel versions of the MAN TGS and TGX are manufactured through a fully integrated mixed-production system on a single line. This flexible structure allows vehicles to be produced according to customer orders and market demand, regardless of their powertrain. The Munich facility has a daily production capacity of approximately 100 trucks.

As part of the transition to electric truck production, more than 5,000 employees have received specialised training in high-voltage technology. Battery packs and electric powertrain components are installed in electric models, while diesel trucks continue to be manufactured on the same production line.

MAN is also expanding its electric truck portfolio. The company is preparing to begin series production of light and medium-duty electric trucks at its Kraków plant in Poland. With the addition of the 12-tonne MAN eTGL and the 16-tonne MAN eTGM, the company's electric truck range will cover vehicles from 12 to 50 tonnes.

MAN develops and manufactures its own battery packs at its Nuremberg facility. Depending on the application, its electric trucks can be configured with seven batteries and a gross capacity of 623 kWh, offering a range of up to 830 kilometres without intermediate charging.

The company's electric transformation also extends to bus production. Series production of electric city buses has been transferred to the Ankara plant, while the fully electric MAN Lion's Coach E intercity bus is also planned for future production in Ankara. The first vehicles are expected to be delivered by the end of the year.

As approximately 95 percent of MAN's total greenhouse gas emissions occur during the use phase of its sold vehicles, electrification plays a critical role in achieving the company's climate targets. With the series production of the eTGX and eTGS in Munich, electric trucks have moved beyond the pilot stage to become an established part of MAN's industrial production.
