According to Allianz Trade's Automotive Sector Report, the Turkish automotive industry achieved a record-breaking performance in 2025 with exports reaching $41.5 billion and vehicle sales totaling 1.37 million units.

The report highlights a continued shift in the global automotive industry toward Asia, particularly China, which now accounts for 37 percent of global vehicle sales. Meanwhile, Europe's market share has fallen below 20 percent.

Allianz Trade also warns that the European Union's proposed "Made in Europe" framework could create uncertainty for Turkish manufacturers if the country is excluded from the new production criteria.

Altuğ Karagöz, Deputy General Manager of Credit at Allianz Trade Türkiye, stated that the company increased its credit insurance exposure to automotive manufacturers and suppliers by approximately 15 percent year-on-year in foreign currency terms.

The European Union remained Türkiye's largest export market, accounting for 72.5 percent of automotive exports in 2025, while Germany continued to be the country's biggest individual market.

Strong domestic demand also supported the sector, with total vehicle sales rising 10.5 percent to 1.37 million units during the year.
