Properly inflated tires, on the other hand, can improve fuel economy by between 0.6 and 3 percent.
Company representatives emphasize that drivers should not focus solely on driving style when looking to reduce fuel costs. Regular tire pressure checks are considered one of the simplest and most effective ways to improve efficiency, extend tire life, and enhance overall vehicle safety.
When tires are underinflated, rolling resistance increases, forcing the engine to work harder to maintain the same level of performance. As a result, vehicles consume more fuel over identical distances, leading to higher operating costs over time.
