Speaking at the MAN Truck & Bus Turkey Inc. Annual Review Meeting, MAN Truck & Bus Turkey Inc. Bus Sales Director Can Cansu said the following about 2025 sales figures and strategies and 2026 targets:
“Success is not a coincidence; the awards we receive are proof of our quality.”
“Success is never a coincidence. As MAN, we have been awarded eight different awards in the last four years with our innovative and technological buses. Last year's star was our electric city bus, the MAN Lion's City E. This year, our electric travel bus, the MAN Lion’s Coach E, attracted all the attention.
MAN Lion’s Coach E selected as ‘Sustainable Bus of the Year 2026’
MAN buses continued their series of prestigious awards in 2025 with their superior qualities. At Busworld Europe 2025 (October 4-9, Brussels), the world's largest international bus fair, where MAN also introduced the next stage of its zero-emission strategy, it impressed with its sustainable mobility solutions and innovative technologies. MAN also held the world premiere of Europe's first fully electric travel bus, the Lion's Coach 14 E.” MAN captivated attendees at the fair with its innovations. MAN, Europe's first manufacturer of fully electric passenger buses, was this year's star performer at the fair, with its Lion's Coach E winning the "Sustainable Bus of the Year 2026" award from the international Sustainable Bus Award (Sby) jury.
Having won awards with the Lion's City 12 E LE and Lion's City 10 E in the past two years, MAN has once again surpassed its competitors with the Lion's Coach E. MAN has achieved a significant success by receiving this prestigious award for the third consecutive time in the city, intercity, and now bus categories. These awards reinforce MAN's leading position in the eBus (electric bus) sector.
This prestigious award, presented to MAN at a special ceremony during the Busworld Europe 2025 Gala Night, is also particularly significant as it marks the first time an electric model has won first place in the bus category.

MAN Lion’s Coach E Receives Full Marks from the Jury in All Criteria
Evaluated based on sustainability, performance, range, comfort, and safety criteria, the Lion’s Coach E received full marks from the jury for its 330 kW continuous power, up to 480 kWh battery capacity, 650 km range, advanced driver assistance systems (EBA Plus, ACC, OptiView, SafeStop Assist), and the fact that more than 95% of its components are recyclable.
Series production of the eCoach is planned to begin in Ankara in 2026.
The MAN Lion’s Coach 14 E, which had its world premiere in Brussels, is the first battery-electric passenger bus developed by a large-scale manufacturer in Europe. This fully electric bus uses the proven drive technology and innovative NMC battery packs used in MAN’s series production eTruck model. Offering a range of up to 650 kilometers with battery capacities varying between 320 kWh and 480 kWh, the Lion’s Coach E reinforces MAN’s vision towards zero-emission targets.
“As MAN, we are setting new standards in passenger bus transportation with the Lion’s Coach E. We are combining long range without compromising comfort, forward-looking design, maximum practicality and environmentally friendly travel.”
Developed by combining technology and experience gained from the MAN eTruck and Lion’s City E families, this 14-meter, 3-axle model offers a capacity of 63 passengers without sacrificing comfort. Providing high energy efficiency with its low friction coefficient and optimized aerodynamics, serial production of the Lion’s Coach E is planned to begin in 2026 at MAN’s Ankara factory.

MAN Aims to Launch a Fully Automated Vehicle by 2030
MAN Truck & Bus continues to systematically develop the automation of its buses for the future of urban traffic. Having worked on driverless buses for years, the company also participates as a partner in forward-looking projects such as the MINGA research project, aiming to gain experience and make innovative technologies available. Within this project, MAN is working with technology leaders such as Mobileye to automate and test an electric bus in real-world conditions. Building on its experience in these partner projects, MAN aims to launch a fully automated vehicle by 2030. As part of the MINGA project, which envisions automated local transport in Munich, an electric city bus is being automated and tested on a real route. MAN is supporting the project with an automated and fully electric MAN Lion's City E.
Within the scope of MAN's work in this area, the @CITY project also teaches buses to approach stops independently. The successful implementation of the current research project is based on projects developed by MAN in recent years. Finally, in the tests conducted, experts ensured that the buses approached the bus stop independently and with high precision.
In addition, MAN's BeIntelli project, implemented as part of its efforts to develop vehicles for future urban traffic, aims to make an intelligent transportation system possible with automated vehicles. Test drives are currently underway in areas not open to the public as part of the project.
The various projects in which MAN is a partner aim to bring together experiences for future automated driving applications. MAN's goal is to launch a fully automated vehicle from 2030 onwards, based on this experience. In particular, with the completion of the MINGA project at the end of 2025, MAN Truck & Bus plans to finish the concept phase and begin field trials with customers.
MAN Lion’s Coach: The preferred choice of select companies
Alongside all these innovations, MAN continues to maintain its market share in 2025. The success of the MAN Lion's Coach, winner of the ‘Coach of the Year 2020’, ‘2022 – Sustainable Travel Bus of the Year’, and ‘Digital On-board Comfort 2023’ awards, plays a significant role in this. The MAN Lion's Coach continues to be the preferred choice of leading companies in 2025. Our MAN Lion's Coach travel bus, launched with a completely new design in 2018, remains the newest design on the market. The Turkish travel bus market is ending this year at a similar level to last year. We expect the market, which saw 1,060 sales in 2023 and 985 in 2024, to reach 1,000 units this year. As MAN, we demonstrated significant performance this year and maintained our second place in the travel bus segment with an 18% market share. We expect the market to reach similar figures in 2026.
As the MAN family, we had a good year and we aim to continue the success we have achieved in the market so far in the coming years. We are making our plans with the understanding that in 2026, not only price and quality but also meeting delivery deadlines and having buses in stock will continue to be important. In light of all this, we aim to continue the success we have achieved in the coming year as well.”
