MAN's light commercial vehicle, the TGE Next Level, has been named "Sustainable Light Commercial Vehicle of the Year 2026" in the light commercial vehicle (LCV) category thanks to its new electronic architecture. The vehicle, which will have enhanced safety and comfort with a model update in 2025, was deemed worthy of this prestigious award for its efficiency-focused sustainable approach.

The MAN TGE Next Level won first prize in the light commercial vehicle (LCV) category at the Sustainable Commercial Vehicle of the Year (STY) 2026 awards, organized by the Milan-based Italian publishing house Vado e Torno Edizioni. With this decision, the STY 2026 jury emphasized that sustainability in the light commercial vehicle segment is not just about drive systems; it also encompasses protecting people, improving working conditions behind the wheel, and having a positive impact on the urban environment. In their statement, the STY 2026 jury noted: “The MAN TGE Next Level stands out with its significant improvements in comfort, ergonomics, functionality, and safety. These elements directly affect operational efficiency, vehicle performance, and the overall quality of work for professionals. In particular, the new generation of assistance systems that reduce accident risks, enhance driving comfort, and improve the well-being of both drivers and passengers are prominent. These systems provide clear and tangible benefits in terms of performance optimization and vehicle efficiency.”
The MAN TGE underwent a comprehensive overhaul in 2025 with the “Next Level”
The MAN TGE, with the “Next Level”, has undergone extensive technical revisions starting in 2025. This process included a complete renewal of the electronic architecture; new control units, sensors, and cameras were integrated into the vehicle. These innovations introduced advanced driver assistance systems and increased safety levels for TGE users and other road users. The driver's workspace was also redesigned. The standard digital instrument panel, central MAN Media Van touchscreen, and ergonomic multi-functional steering wheel improved driver ergonomics and ease of use. The new instrument panel layout created a more spacious and functional area within the cabin. With this technical transformation, the MAN TGE Next Level is equipped with new and improved driver assistance systems. Blind Spot Warning, Departure Warning, Cruise Assist, Cruise Assist Plus, and Cornering Assist systems have been added to the vehicle. Many of the existing assistance systems have also been updated in terms of functionality and scope. Furthermore, the standard equipment level has been significantly increased. Every MAN TGE Next Level is equipped with Fatigue Detection, Traffic Sign Recognition, Intelligent Speed Assist, Emergency Brake Assist, Parking Assist (except for flatbed and hooded vehicles), Active Lane Keeping System, Cruise Control, and Tire Pressure Monitoring System. This holistic equipment approach has elevated the active safety level of MAN transport vehicles to the highest level.
