The new Audi Q3 is the first to bring digital lighting technologies to the compact segment, transforming light into an intelligent system that directs, informs, and enhances safety. Micro-LED based Digital Matrix LED headlights and Digital OLED taillights make Audi's vision of progress visible on every journey.

Q3 AUDİ

For Audi, lighting is not just about illuminating the road; it's about making driving safer, more intuitive, and more controlled. The digital lighting technologies used in the new Audi Q3 transform light into an active component that integrates seamlessly with driver assistance systems. With high-resolution micro-LED technology and selectable digital light signatures, the Audi Q3 demonstrates how light can be redefined in the compact segment.

For the first time in Audi's compact segment

The new Audi Q3 brings Audi's digital lighting technologies to the compact segment for the first time. The Digital Matrix LED headlights and Digital OLED taillights position light not merely as an illuminating element, but as an intelligent system that actively supports driving. Thanks to the holistic integration of hardware and software, the lighting continuously adapts to environmental conditions and driving situations.

Customizable daytime running lights

The Audi Q3's front lighting architecture consists of 23 LED segments, each independently controllable in each headlight. This allows drivers to choose from four different digital daytime running light signatures via the MMI. Segment-based control ensures uniform light distribution while precisely creating characteristic light signatures that reflect Audi's brand identity.

Digital OLED Taillights with Selectable Rear Light Design

The digital OLED technology used in the rear lighting is characterized by homogeneous light distribution and high contrast levels. Six separate OLED panels offer the advantage of homogeneous light distribution and high contrast, providing a clearer rear view, especially when driving at night. Working in conjunction with illuminated Audi rings and an LED light strip, the system allows for the selection of different digital taillight signatures.

Impressive Light Projections

The Digital Matrix LED headlights activate the moment you get into the vehicle, offering three different advanced dynamic lighting scenarios. Thanks to the precise control of micro LED light sources, these projections create both a functional and visual welcome experience before driving by reflecting clear light patterns onto the road and surroundings.

Innovative Micro LED Technology

The micro LED module, used for the first time in the Audi Q3, consists of 25,600 micro LED pixels positioned on a chip approximately 13 millimeters wide. Each micro LED is approximately 40 micrometers in size, about half the thickness of a human hair. Because each of these pixels can be controlled individually, the light can be directed with extremely high resolution and operates with the precision of a video projection.

Extensive Lighting Functions

The micro LED module offers a compact structure consisting of a projection lens, a micro LED chip, and integrated cooling components. The system works in conjunction with data from cameras and sensors to function as an intelligent light assistant. By detecting vehicles ahead and approaching, it prevents glare, allowing the driver to continuously use high beams.

Enhanced Road Safety

High-resolution and enhanced contrast light projection ensures clearer visibility of lines, edges, and objects on the road surface. The high contrast and precise light distribution offered by micro-LED technology significantly improve visibility in challenging weather conditions such as rain, fog, and snow, supporting driving safety.

Enhanced Traffic Information

When the outside temperature drops below 4 degrees Celsius, the system detects the risk of icing and projects a snowflake symbol directly onto the road surface. This information works simultaneously with the instrument panel, allowing the driver to perceive critical warnings without taking their attention away from the road.

Lane Change Assistant with Light Projection

During lane changes, the oncoming traffic situation detected by the driver assistance systems is projected onto the digital Matrix LED headlights. Simultaneously with warnings in the side mirrors, the lane light is dynamically adjusted, and in case of a potential hazard, the lane change is visually prevented.

Lane Light Signal Indicator

When an active signal is given, a light projection is created on the edge of the lane in the relevant direction. This light reflects the dynamics of the signal onto the road surface, communicating the driver's intention to other road users early and clearly.

Lane Departure Warning with Light Projection

When the vehicle unintentionally crosses the lane line, a light symbol is projected onto the road via micro LED headlights, guiding the driver back into the lane. This visual guidance enhances driving safety by assisting the driver's steering intervention.

Advanced Dynamic Lighting Scenario

The "coming home / leaving home" light scenarios, activated when exiting the vehicle, offer an impressive light choreography through the coordinated operation of micro LED and digital OLED technologies. These scenarios demonstrate that the Audi Q3's lighting technology is active not only during driving but at every moment of the overall experience with the vehicle.
