Hyundai's first fully electric MPV model, the STARIA Electric, made its world premiere at the Brussels Motor Show. The Concept THREE, meanwhile, offers a first glimpse into the future of the compact electric IONIQ 3, which will be produced in Turkey. With the most comprehensive range of electric vehicles in Europe, Hyundai is at the very heart of the electric transformation.

Hyundai is showcasing its vision for electric mobility at the Brussels Motor Show with a strong product launch and a long-term European strategy. Introducing the fully electric version of its acclaimed MPV model STARIA, Hyundai sets a new segment standard by offering zero emissions along with driving comfort, superior spaciousness, and versatile usability. The Concept THREE, also on display, provides strong clues about the design and engineering approach of the new compact electric model IONIQ 3, developed for the European market. With these comprehensive presentations in Brussels, Hyundai clearly outlines its vision for the future, placing electrification, technology, and human-centered mobility at its core.
STARIA Electric Overview
STARIA Electric takes Hyundai's MPV concept to a fully electric future. Designed for large families, commercial users, and those with active lifestyles, the model combines spaciousness, comfort, and practicality with zero-emission driving.
With its flat floor, spacious interior, and flexible seating arrangement, the cabin creates a premium feel; offering a comfortable and relaxed experience for everything from daily city driving to long-distance journeys.
Shaped by Hyundai's "Inside-Outside" design philosophy, the long body, low shoulder line, and large glass surfaces support both spaciousness in the interior and a modern and futuristic look in the exterior design. As a key part of Hyundai's electrification strategy, the STARIA Electric brings accessible and comfortable electric mobility suitable for real-life use to the MPV segment. The model will be manufactured at Hyundai's Ulsan plant in South Korea.
Lifestyle and Everyday Use Focused Design
STARIA Electric makes long journeys more comfortable and relaxing with its multi-row seating configuration, high-roofed body, and quiet electric drivetrain. Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, ample storage space, and high-power USB ports transform the vehicle from a mere means of transport into a versatile option for camping, outdoor activities, and mobile work.
The closed front design, horizontal light signature, and clean surfaces specific to the electric version both enhance aerodynamic efficiency and give the STARIA Electric a strong electric identity. Wide sliding doors and ample loading space facilitate easy access for passengers and cargo. The STARIA Electric is offered in two configurations for different usage scenarios. The LUXURY (7-seater) offers superior comfort and is focused on family and individual use, while the WAGON (9-seater) is ideal for large families, group transport, and commercial use.
Electric Powertrain and Performance
STARIA Electric is equipped with an 84 kWh battery and a front-wheel-drive 160 kW electric motor. Its 800-volt high-voltage system, rare in its segment, provides high power output with low heat generation, enabling fast charging and comfortable long-distance driving. Optimized suspension settings, a reinforced body structure, and additional sound insulation ensure a balanced, comfortable, and quiet ride, even when fully loaded. These features make STARIA Electric ideal for both individual and professional use.
Interior and Spaciousness
STARIA Elektrik's interior was designed as a bright, simple, and functional living space.
Thanks to its long wheelbase, flat floor, and clever storage solutions, it offers one of the most spacious cabins in its segment. Heated and ventilated seats, electric sliding doors and tailgate are offered as standard or optional depending on the version. The 7-seater LUXURY has 435 liters of luggage space behind the 3rd row, while this figure reaches 1,303 liters in the 9-seater WAGON.
IONIQ 3 First Look: Concept THREE
Hyundai is sharing the first glimpses of the IONIQ 3, the new compact member of the IONIQ family, with the Concept THREE showcased at the Brussels Motor Show. Designed and manufactured in Europe, the IONIQ 3 aims to make electric mobility more accessible to a wider audience by combining versatility, advanced technology, and ease of daily use. With its dimensions suitable for urban use, young families, and active lifestyles, the IONIQ 3 is positioned as a key model in Hyundai's European-focused product strategy.
Europe is central to Hyundai's electric vehicle strategy.
Europe plays a key role in Hyundai's global growth and electrification strategy. The brand operates in 42 countries with over 2,000 dealerships, while its factories in Turkey (Izmit) and the Czech Republic (Nošovice) account for approximately 80 percent of its total European volume.
Hyundai Motor Europe Vice President of Product Raf Van Nuffel commented on the matter, saying, “As a key player in the electric transformation in Europe, Hyundai is pursuing a long-term strategy focused on sustainability, innovation and accessibility.”
Local Investments in Europe
Hyundai is making significant investments to strengthen its presence in Europe. With a €150 million investment in the “Square Campus” at the Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Center in Rüsselsheim, Germany, Hyundai is also strategically prioritizing development and growth through an additional 25,000 m² of advanced R&D infrastructure, expanded advanced testing capabilities at the Nürburgring, and investments in electric vehicle production in Türkiye.
