The updated series brings quieter operation, reduced dust emissions, and increased use of recycled materials. ZF Aftermarket continues to set standards in brake technology with its TRW Electric Blue brake pads, designed specifically for hybrid and electric vehicles.Since its launch in 2018, the Electric Blue series has expanded significantly and now covers nearly all major EV models in the European market.

The next-generation pads feature a copper-free formulation, an average of 13% recycled material per pad, and up to 45% less brake dust compared to traditional pads—offering a strong contribution to sustainable mobility.
Extensive Coverage, Quiet Operation, Stable Friction
Leveraging ZF’s OEM expertise for the independent aftermarket, TRW Electric Blue now covers:
100% of the top 20 electric vehicles in Europe,
and 97% of all EV models on the market.
The pads provide:
quiet braking even after long periods of inactivity,
low dust emission,
consistent friction performance,
and optimized NVH (Noise–Vibration–Harshness) characteristics.
With an NVH rating of 9/10, the series is engineered to meet the acoustic comfort expectations of EV and hybrid vehicles and is supplied with noise-damping accessories.
Copper-Free and Eco-Conscious Material Structure
The new TRW Electric Blue pads:
are copper-free (ECE-R90 compliant),
contain an average of 13% recycled material,
and are produced without organic solvents.
This approach reduces heavy metal usage and aims to minimize brake-related particulate emissions. With each new iteration, the Electric Blue series continues to lower particle emissions compared to conventional pads.

Advanced Brake Technology for E-Mobility
As the world’s first aftermarket brake pad designed specifically for hybrid and electric vehicles, TRW Electric Blue reinforces ZF Aftermarket’s leadership in e-mobility solutions.
The series enhances braking performance while supporting a mobility ecosystem that is:
quieter,
cleaner,
and more sustainable.
